Almost 8 weeks ago we came to K-9 Carts for an evaluation on Katie, our 14 year old Sheltie. She has had two cancerous tumors removed and 18 treatments of radiation on her right hip. Her back legs were getting weaker steadily since the last tumor was removed three years ago. She also suffered a stroke six months ago, which left her too weak to walk and immobile.
We watched Evening Magazine one night when they showed an episode on Iko and K-9 Carts. We were so impressed we made an appointment. I know you were skeptical whether it would benefit Katie. It has been almost eight weeks ago and we are writing a very joyous thank you.
Katie’s cart has not only given her mobility, it has saved us from having to carry her everywhere. She has slowly developed muscles again and can keep the cart on for extended periods. But the greatest gift the cart has done is given Katie her life back. All our lives have returned to a more normal pattern with her new found independence. Katie’s attitude has remarkably improved. She is happy and alert now. Our friends have even witnessed the difference in her smiley face!
When Katie is on a mission she can power over almost anything, including running over our 130 pound Akita’s legs. She has truly exceeded our expectations and we feel the cart is worth every penny and more.
