SunnySunshine "Sunny" Bunny Littlebear was a male, Mini-Lop rabbit, adopted at the age of ten weeks, by his "Mama", Barb Bear from a pet store in Surrey BC, March 3, 1997. Sunny was an exceptionally smart and loving rabbit, who knew on his own, not to "go potty" on the floor, right from the very first moment he was brought home! This afforded Sunny 100% free-run of the apartment he inhabited with Barb and spouse, Vince (or, as Sunny knew him...)"Papa!" Barb & Vince enjoyed sharing their precious little Sunny with others as often as they could, by taking him for walks with his own cat harness everywhere and travelled extensively with him (Sunny travelled by car as far north as William's Lake, BC, as far east by airplane as Winnipeg, Manitoba, as far west by car/ferry as Gibson's Landing, BC and as far south by car as Seattle, WA!) Barb even brought Sunny to work many times (especially at Easter, of course!) which needlesstosay, was always much appreciated by all! Sunny enjoyed perfect health until his 7th year, when he became stricken with, what his vet suspected was a Pasturella bacteria, relatively common (though also sometimes, fatal) in rabbits. T he infection first manifested itself when Sunny became incontinent, then head-tilt followed. The head-tilt was successfully treated with aggressive, prescribed medication, but Sunny's health would still only steadily decline from that point on. From September 2004 onwards, Sunny would also lose the use of his hind quarters and Barb had a special mobility cart made for him by K9 Carts in Langley, WA, after first learning they also made carts for rabbits (Sunny's Vet said she did not know this was possible, either). Unfortunately however, Sunny would only get to enjoy the cart for the afternoon he was fitted for it, as, the infection continued pushing on, making him just too weak to use the cart at home after that. Sunny peacefully passed away in his Mama's arms a few days later, August 11, 2005. Nonetheless, it was clear that Sunny really enjoyed the mobility the cart provided, even if only for that one precious afternoon. K9 Carts can take great pride in the work they do in making animals' lives (and their owners) greatly enriched! Keep up the extraordinary work K9 Carts!
We love you and will miss you always, Sunny Bunny!
