Winston Hullo all!
We got our Corgi Winston on your wheels about a month ago, and he is really doing well. His stamina has increased so now it's rollermania at our house. He's run the cat's tail over, tried to drive over our other Corgi, Joey, in order to get to where he wants to go, and just this weekend he learned how to lay down. It's so cute with his fuzzbutt up in the air! When he gets tired, he has some difficulties on the hardwood floors, so we got his some traction boots to help him keep a steady foothold. That's quite a fashion statement he makes. We also found that we can loop a leash around the strap that goes across his back - we can pull him along just a bit to help him up hills that are a little too steep to climb on his own. Ta-dah!
It's really been a blessing to us to have his mobility be independent of us. It has restored a level of normalcy to our household that would have taken a long time to get to with us carrying his tush around in a sling. Between a modified diet and the increased exercise, he's gotten down to a healthy weight. His previous owner came to visit, and she was really impressed by how well he was getting around. He doesn't complain about getting in the wheels, tho sometimes he is so fidgety to getting going that he's moving forward before we even have his rear legs settled in and the back strap fastened.
Hold on Big Shifter!
